Information sharing
As a result of grant requests and other correspondence with Falls Foundation, we keep non-financial contact information such as your email address and postal address in a database used by employees, and some contractors and non-profit partners. We collect this information to administer your account and, with your consent, to send you marketing emails that might interest you.
We collect email and postal addresses from a variety of sources, including partner organizations and public records lists. With your consent, we may sometimes share information with our grant partners when it's related to the content of a program or project and we think you'll be interested in the material.
We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We will not share any part of your information with any for-profit or commercial organizations. Your email and postal address may be shared with other non-profit organizations. We will ask for your permission before any personal information is shared with third parties. If you change your mind, you will also be given the choice to opt out of sharing your personal information with third parties.
We may provide your personal information to companies that provide services to help us with our business activities, such as event services and grant evaluation and strategic assessment consultation. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.
We may also disclose your personal information:
- In certain situations, Falls Foundation may be required to disclose personal information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
- As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process.
- When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
- If Falls Foundation is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Website of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.
- To any other third party with your prior consent to do so.
Where required in the relevant jurisdiction, we will obtain your consent before sending you promotional emails. We will honor your request to stop sending you publications or email newsletters, and this will not affect your grant-related communications. Please email info@falls-foundation.org with such requests, or you can unsubscribe by following the instructions included in each email.
User access and choice
Upon request, Falls Foundation will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your personal information. We will respond to your request to access within 30 days.
We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will further retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Thereafter, we will delete (or otherwise erase, de-identify, or pseudonymize) any such personal information except as required or permitted by applicable law or regulation.
Security
The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Tracking technologies
Falls Foundation and its partners use cookies or similar technologies to analyze trends, administer the website, track users' movements around the website, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level, but if you choose to disable cookies, it may limit your use of certain features or functions on our website or service.
As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data.
We do not link this automatically collected data to other information we collect about you.
We may partner with a third party to either display advertising on our website or to manage our advertising on other sites. Our third-party partner may use technologies such as cookies to gather information about your activities on this site and other sites in order to provide you advertising based upon your browsing activities and interests. This does not opt you out of being served ads; you will continue to receive generic ads.
Some web browsers may transmit “do-not-track” signals to the websites with which the user communicates, although web browsers incorporate and activate this functionality in different ways, and it is not always clear whether users intend for these signals to be transmitted. There currently is disagreement, including among participants in the leading Internet standards-setting organization, concerning what, if anything, websites should do when they receive such signals. Falls Foundation currently does not take action in response to these signals, but, if and when a standard is established and accepted, we may reassess how to respond to these signals.

Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.
