Research & Archives
A living archive of emerging art.
The Falls Foundation is building a research center and archive around the work it collects, documenting emerging contemporary artists at the moment their careers are taking shape, so the record of this generation is preserved and accessible.
Permanent collections decide what is remembered. We pair the lending collection with original research and a growing archive, so the artists we support are documented, contextualized, and available to scholars, curators, and the public.
What we research
Artist documentation
Studio interviews, statements, and working records gathered as each work enters the collection.
Provenance & acquisition data
Transparent records of how and when each work was acquired, and where it travels on loan.
Exhibition & lending history
A continuous account of where works are shown, who they reach, and how access widens over time.
Representation research
Longitudinal tracking of who is collected and exhibited, building evidence to rebalance cultural memory.
